This project proposes a network of modular urban recharge stations that reintroduce water into Cabramatta’s public spaces to improve comfort, social interaction, and environmental performance. Each 4sqm pod captures, stores, and reuses rainwater to create cooling elements such as mist spray, shallow ponds, and rain chains. Positioned along key pedestrian routes, the stations act as moments of pause within the city’s active and kinetic street life. Inspired by Cabramatta’s culture of outdoor living, the design transforms streets into a continuous “living room” that supports intergenerational gathering. By slowing water down and keeping it visible, the project reconnects people with natural systems while addressing urban heat and fragmented public space.
